making the rounds

the rearview mirror effect!

the queue

in amongst a group of people have you ever found yourself in the queue for the next yawn no matter how hard you try not to catch it
but it still just happens and as fast as it came to you,
off it goes to the next unwittingly person.

the crowd

did you know that it doesn't take large crowd to play in fact it can take only the two of you? this contagion can begin by just by looking into a mirror but not with just an ordinary mirror but in fact, a vehicles rearview mirror.

the straw

then you pulled the short straw and you find yourself not riding shotgun it only seems fair that as the one left in the backseat
you get to start the game of "the yawn".

the squish

it begins with you
(the one with your knees all squished in with no room to stretch out)
the first to roll the dice
and as you land on that first square you begin the game.
(as the law being a driver cannot be on the road with having any distractions)
the next roll goes back to you (the beginner of the game).

the next in line

now after actually reading the instructions and understanding the rules of the game it became clearer that it is always your turn to roll the dice. with both being the giver and the receiver of the yawn, the win is alway within reach.

the yippee

the only thing that remains though is that the action of being repeatable will always be your fault. even with this knowledge you let the repetition start
and then voila the fun begins.

the satisfaction

when looking back at it all i must admit that i'm not too sure if this type of entertainment, you know the type that never ever ends can become addictive and/or irritating while the loop continues to be passed along.

the end

and now it is your turn, don't forget to yawn.

the tedious journey

staying awake is a natural thing that we all have to deal with but how about when you need to not be yawning?
here are a few iron clad methods to help you with the long and tedious drive to the nursery.

~~~ try to stay focused on the surroundings out the window by counting trees, birds and perhaps the telephone poles as they flash by.
~~~ the blast of cold from the air conditioner while on high or better yet rolling down the wind and sticking your head out with the hopes of not swallowing a bug.
~~~ do yoga arm stretches that won't knock-out the passenger or break the rearview mirror off.
~~~ count the burnt-out headlights as you pass an on-coming vehicle or for a bonus point count them as they approach in your rearview mirror.
~~~ whistle in tune with the snoring coming from the seat beside you.
~~~ listen to a book-on-tape where ***Chewbacca actually talks.
~~~ sing out loud to songs from 1980's.
and my all time favourite --- the tipping of your hat, curtseying, kneeling, and well even just the act of nodding your head as you acknowledging each tree that is leading over as if wanting to jump over to the other side of the road as everyone needs to have an adventure, even trees.
on a side note though --- have you found that the time TO get where you are going can almost be unbearable and yet the drive BACK seems to be half the distances. even though the illusion of time taking longer or slower, i'm still happy that you came to visit.
