Christmas Wreaths

1/30/2021

The Faerie Nursery created 12 very unique Christmas wreaths to share with the community for 2020. It is always a wonderful feeling when you see someone's eyes light up as they're trying to decide which wreath best fits their door for the holiday season year.

Between shades of reds, cream, white, gold, green, silver and rose-gold these wreaths went beyond everyone's wildest dreams and wishes. Each wreath had Christmas scented pinecones that would waif into the air and of course they all had wee bells that would ring each time a door was opened or closed. One thing that I did add in this year were lights! Each wreath either had pinecones or mesh wired balls in gold or silver and each evening you could turn them on to add a whole new experience. It was beautiful to drive down our street and see all of the wreaths lit up.

In order to try to save the whole house from being glittered I decided to try taping up plastic tablecloths to create a protective work area. This did work amazingly but to be honest, between the two woof woofs, Hubby Dearest and myself it was still way too easy to track sparkles from one room to the other! Thankfully though, the mess was definitely well contained. Plus, we all need a bit of sparkle throughout the whole year.

It was just this past weekend that I had all of the wreaths returned to me so I could take them all apart to save the flowers and decorations for next year.  As each wreath was dropped off or picked up, the recipients had nothing but praise, amazement and a glitter in their eye. It took me a full two evenings to make all twelve wreaths and only one afternoon to take them all apart again. Of course, I wouldn't be organized if I didn't ask everyone what colour they would like for next year, surprisingly enough the most asked for colour was BLUE! Yes, blue. Second would be metallics and then follows all of the regular traditional colours of reds, greens, creams and whites.

I have now ordered all of the silk poinsettia flowers that I will need for next year, over 200, and now almost daily there seems to be a package or two waiting for us at the post box. It's like getting a present everyday! Mind you, throughout the whole year I'm always on the look out for sparkly branches and decorations that I can use.

I've added photos of me taping down the tablecloths and then Hubby Dearest took a dozen or so pictures of me while I was busy in the design process.  The wreath that I made for our door is the rose-gold one that I posted next followed by a slideshow of the other eleven wreaths. Let me know if you have a favourite.
